A Note From the Mayor

Happy New Year, friends and family:

I hope this year finds you stronger, healthier and eager to grow. As we press into 2017, we’ve taken a true look into the life of our city and what distinguishes Fallon as a place for prosperity, opportunity and adventure.

We’ve captivated the essence of Fallon through a new website, completed our fifth-annual Live Local campaign and have engaged locals and visitors in seasonal events. Most importantly, we continue to evolve, build and be the best ambassadors of our city.

The joy of a Fallonite imbues dedication, hard work, family and loyalty. For this, we strive to work together this year, preserving tradition and paving roads to new opportunities.

Now, a look at our recent evolution.

The newly-launched City of Fallon website (FallonNevada.gov) fuses an innovative design with functionality. Citizens are now able to make quick utility payments, submit events, discover job openings and stay updated with city news. It allows entrepreneurs to apply for building permits and business licenses; and encourages both residents and tourists by showcasing city recreation and seasonal events.

Be sure to participate in this season’s Live Local campaign. As citizens, we must be active participants in our economy. I encourage you to support our local eateries and hotels, and cheer on a family member or friend at a sporting event. Earn points throughout the year, and win prizes at our annual Live Local grand prize drawing.

Take a peek into the renovated Old Post Office building, home to the City of Fallon Co-Working space. Take advantage of free amenities to host business meetings, school projects, or to research an entrepreneurial passion. We are excited to introduce three free classes this year, hosted by the Young Entrepreneurs Collective. Each class is geared toward aspiring or current business owners, and open to the public. Visit the City of Fallon website for more information.

My personal goal for 2017 is to reach deeper into the community, and to insight energy into our citizens. I believe one of the greatest attributes of our people is our unparalleled pride and commitment to our city. Please join me this year as we celebrate our accomplishments and move swiftly into a greater Fallon.

Warm Regards,

Mayor Ken Tedford
